Tumbleweed Can’t Be Contained….

It is getting kind of sickening to see Tumbleweed (my homeboy, co-worker, another avid chess player, and unfortunately a Philadelphia Eagles fan) basking in the glory of his team winning yet another game that they weren’t supposed to have a chance at winning. His joy is understandable, but if you know Derrick (“Tumbleweed” is a name given to him by “Sick Wit It,” another one of our homies from the shop), then you know that his bark is much worse than his bite: the boy can talk some trash, and its much worse when he has some ammunition.

That being said, its a much better world to live in for me when the Eagles aren’t in the playoffs, and when I beat the breaks off of Tumbleweed on the chess board. I’ve been handling my business in regards to chess for a while now, so that’s a non-factor. (LET’S BE CLEAR: that doesn’t just apply to Tumbleweed either, right now my chess game is all the way on. Joe, I know you’re reading this. Haha) Well, after sneaking their way into the playoffs, with a 9-6-1 record, the Eagles are one game from the Super Bowl, after handling the defending Super Bowl champion NY Giants, who were also a wild card team last year, when they pulled the update of the century, by beating the Patriots last year.

I find myself rooting for the Cardinals this year, mainly because: 1) I’m not a fan of Donovan McNabb (he threw Terrell Owens under the bus, despite what many of you say, and he’s soft) 2) The Cardinals have never even PLAYED in a Super Bowl and most importantly 3) I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO LISTEN TO TUMBLEWEED GLOAT FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR.

Granted, the winner of the Baltimore-Pittsburgh game should win the title, but the way things are going, I don’t want to leave anything to chance.
